Death Note Plot and Summary
The plot of Death Note revolves around a high school student Light Yagami, who is also the protagonist of the anime. Light Yagami once got his hands on a mysterious book which turned out to be the “Death Note”. Death is a book that can kill any person in the world. There are specific conditions that are required to kill a person by death note which are as follows:
- The name of any person which is written on the death note shall die.
- The person writing the name must be thinking of the face of the person he’s trying to kill.
There are many other conditions but these are the main conditions required and also mentioned in the anime.
When Light Yagami gets his hands on Death Note, he gets everything in his head that what is the use of this book as he was a high school genius. After a few days, the real owner of the Death Note appears before Light Yagami. The real owner is “Shinigami” or God of Death whose name is Ryuk. Ryuk is only apparent to Light Yagami and tells Light that he has deliberately thrown the death note as he was feeling bored. Ryuk also wanted to taste the Apples of the Human world.
Death thinks that he will erase all the evil people of the world to make the world crime-free. And to do that he needed to complete the required conditions. So he watched crime news all day to remember the faces of criminals. He killed a lot of criminals by writing their names on Death Note. Some met accident, some were shot and those whose reason of death was not mentioned died of heart attack.
This led to a lot of Chaos in the world, especially in prisons where criminals were imprisoned. Light Yagami killed them and hid his name. He used the alias, which was “Kira”. A lot of people were in support of Kira as the crime rate in the entire world decreased.
However, the police and government were not happy with Kira’s doings and they started hunting Kira. They assigned this mission to one of their elite detective named “L”. L brought a light hurdle in Kira’s plan but ultimately Kira defeated L and executed his plan smoothly.
L has two successors, Near and Mello. Near was the one who suspected Light Yagami in the start and finally got him caught by the police. Light somehow manages to escape from the hands of the police and makes it to an empty building.
Conclusion
Ryuk didn’t want Light to spend his life in prison and wait for him, so Ryuk wrote Light’s name in his death note. Light dies on a staircase due to a heart attack.
