Money Heist is a Spanish heist series that was first released on May 02, 2017, in the Spanish language. The series garnered huge international attention and was dubbed into several languages. The series was also streamed by Netflix in the English language.
The series is about a heist that is led by a very enigmatic professor along with other eight people. The group carries out the heist of 1 BILLION euros from Royal Mint in Madrid. After getting away with it, one of their members is captured by the police. This creates a very much chaos among the group as they desperately want to get him back.
Talking about the characters: each character of the series gives different vibes. The characters in the series never fail to make viewers go “Awwww!” This comes as no surprise, given their incredible talent and brilliant acting skills. One of my favorite characters – Professor, never fails to give us nerdy vibes. He seems capable of anything. He cares very much for his teammates. So we can say, he is caring, loving, and charming as well.
Another thing that I loved about the series is its plot. The plot as mentioned revolves around a mastermind named THE PROFESSOR. He recruits a band of eight people and plans to carry out the biggest heist in the history of the world. They plan to pull off money from the ROYAL MINT in Spain. The plan is made by THE PROFESSOR and is discussed before the heist.
The plot of Money Heist is quite interesting as it keeps viewers engaged throughout the whole series. The plot does so with its plot twists and unexpected developments. Furthermore, we get to see how the characters go through a rapid change in the series. Both the villains as well as hostages go through an unexpected transformation in the series.
The narrative technique used takes us back and forth in the lives of the characters. Furthermore, suspense and thrill are maintained throughout the series. We also get to see social and political commentary in it.
Money Heist questions the oppressive system and acts as resistance against the system. The main character, The Professor can be regarded as a symbol of resistance and injustice that need to be tackled with.
