Hello, you anime fans must be free-thirsty for some more anime to follow after some of the ones you’ve watched. This time as you people would have already read it in the title we will be focusing ourselves on some of the top anime that will make you people cry. So, I’m sure you people must have come across some sad anime that have made you shed some tears. And as we all know those are the shows or things that stick in your memory for a very long time as I don’t think there’s any other emotion that is felt as intensely as sadness in our lives.

I mean we all can relate to this. Comedy or happiness is something that will amuse you for a while but most of the time in our lives, moments are filled mostly with sadness or tragedy. And we all hold those sad shows very firmly with us for we are the ones facing those sorrowful moments in our lives.

There are plenty of anime that make viewers cry on some occasions one of them that comes to my mind is Naruto which has some episodes that you feel and build a really strong connection to. So without any further elaboration on sadness, we bring you the top anime that are based just on these sad emotions as you might be looking out for some.

Your Lie in April (2014)

Known in Japanese as Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Your Lie in April is based on a romantic genre that deals with emotional trauma and loss. It focuses on the story of Kōsei Arima, who is a proficient pianist and musician. But things go down hell as he loses his mother and with it, he loses his ability to hear the sound of his piano. His otherwise hearing is unaffected though.
Soon after, things start to change as he meets Kaori Miyazono, an eccentric violinist, who makes Kosei realize that there is a lot more to music than just hitting the notes perfectly. The two of them get along well and Kosei finds himself falling in love with Kaori along the way. But things turn out tragic in the end as we find out about the terminal illness of Kaori which brings their journey to an untimely end. It’s a real tear-shader when Kosei reads Kaori’s letter at the end.

I Want To Eat Your Pancreas (2018)

Yet another anime that is based on a romantic genre is I Want to Eat Your Pancreas. Its story is both heartwarming and at the same heartbreaking. It focuses on the story of Sakura and Haruki as Haruki finds out about the journal of Sakura and reads it. In it, he finds out about the fatal pancreatic illness that Sakura suffers from. To his shock, he finds out he is the first one to know about her illness. He then vows to help her achieve everything which she has wished for.

In the process, they grow attached knowing that this journey of love won’t be for long as Sakura is living out her final moments. In the end, Haruki finds out about Sakura’s death and breaks down into tears after realizing his feelings for that one single person after Kyoho reads out the diary that Sakura had written. A passive feeling is evoked among viewers at the end of the show showcasing the tragic outcome of the story.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009)

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is about two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, who attempt to bring their deceased mother back to life. Their endeavor involves the forbidden practice of human transmutation, breaking the laws of alchemy. As a consequence, they suffer significant physical and emotional tolls.

Refusing to accept their altered state, the resentful brothers embark on a journey to find a way to restore their bodies. They discover that the Philosopher’s Stone holds the key to their restoration. However, their pursuit leads to a series of tragic events, as they constantly try to use the stone to bring each other back. It is a heart touching anime filled with pitiful events that evoke tears from viewers.
