Naruto Uzumaki is not dead in the Boruto anime. Naruto Uzumaki, the father of Boruto Uzumaki, also the seventh Hokage is alive, however, has some sickness.
Like Hagoromo Otsutsuki, Naruto also suffers the chakra illness and is not as strong as he was in Naruto Shippuden. He still is the strongest in Boruto but will soon be surpassed by Boruto. As Boruto is the vessel of momoshiki otsutsuki. Boruto however has managed to get control over the powers of Momoshiki otsutsuki.
Naruto Uzumaki still plays one of the leading roles in Boruto’s anime. Naruto, the jinchuriki of the nine-tailed fox (Kurama) has befriended the Tailed beast within him and is using his power for the welfare of the shinobi World and common people.
To fight one of the strongest otsutsuki named Nishiki Otsutsuki, Naruto used baryon mode. In baryon mode, the chakra of Jinchuriki and the Tailed beast within him get merged and give immense strength and vital skills to Jinchuriki to fight his enemies. However, the baryon mode comes at the cost of death, either of the Tailed beast or the jinchuriki. The tailed beast within Naruto decides to sacrifice himself for the sake of Naruto. Naruto however tries his best to save Kurama (the tailed beast) but in the end, kurama disappears after defeating Isshiki Otsutsuki. This scene is one of the most painful and sad scenes of the anime.
Most people misunderstood Naruto as dead because he used baryon mode, however, it is not like that and Naruto is all alive in the Boruto.
The other reason why fans thought that Naruto was dead was because in an outro it is shown that Kawaki says to Boruto “I will send you the same place I have sent the seventh Hokage”. Fans take this line as the death threat from Kawaki. However, kawaki has sent Naruto to another dimension to kill Boruto or to suppress Momoshiki as Momoshiki Otsutsuki is going to take control over Boruto which is a threat to Naruto. To save Naruto, Kawaki has sent him to another dimension.
Naruto still holds the position of Hokage and takes care of everyone. Naruto has also kept a vigilance team after Kawaki so to save him from Kara. Kara is an organization like Akatsuki in Naruto.
So in, Boruto anime Naruto is not dead yet and no episode is yet shown which can give the glimpse of his death.
