Can Madara use Amaterasu?

Madara Uchiha can not use Amaterasu. Amaterasu is a Mangekyo Sharingan ability that generates black flames on a target simply by visual contact. This formidable technique is fatal, relentlessly burning until the target is reduced to ashes. Among the Uchiha clan, only a few individuals can unlock the Mangekyo Sharingan, with Itachi and Sasuke being the notable users of Amaterasu in the Naruto series.

Each Mangekyo Sharingan possesses a unique ability:

• Itachi Uchiha: Amaterasu (right eye) and Tsukuyomi (left eye).
• Sasuke Uchiha: Amaterasu (left eye) and the ability to extinguish it (right eye).
• Obito Uchiha: Kamui, with indirect use (left eye) and direct use (right eye).
• Shisui Uchiha: Kotoamatsukami, usable with both eyes.

While Madara Uchiha has unlocked the Mangekyo Sharingan, his specific ability is not revealed in the anime. It’s known that after the death of his brother Izuna Uchiha, Madara transformed his Mangekyo Sharingan into the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan (EMS). EMS is a rare Uchiha ability that enables the user to envelop their body with Susanoo, a powerful protective entity. Additionally, EMS allows for a projectile attack using Susanoo’s hands to launch clusters of chakra shurikens.

Madara and Sasuke are the only two Uchiha characters shown to have unlocked the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. In the anime, Madara is not depicted using any specific Mangekyo Sharingan ability, including Amaterasu.
